Enzo Caetani was invited by the Law Firm K&L Gates to deliver a speech at their event “Doing business in the Mediterranean area”, held in Milano on October 11, 2016.
The event took place in the sober environment of the Museum of the Milano Diocese, a very suggestive location where the vaste artistic heritage of Italy provided the incomparable frame to an interesting debate on business across the Mediterranean rim.
Various aspects were treated by different speakers, in two sessions respectively dedicated to opportunities and investment risks, and comparison of legal systems, with particular emphasis on dispute prevention and management.
In particular, Enzo’s speech was about “EPC Contractors and dispute resolution in the Mediterranean area” with presentation of several case studies

The Energy Commission of Istanbul invited Giancarlo to hold a lecture at its club near Taksim square on the subject of Contract Management.
The Energy Commission is an association among the alumni of Middle East Technical University (METU) of Ankara, one of the most prestigious Turkish Universities, with a large graduate population working and living around Istanbul.
The Istanbul Alumni Association of METU has a number of clubs / groups.
One of them is the Energy Commission, a group composed of engineers from various disciplines (chemical, mechanical, electrical, etc.), working in Oil & Gas, power, power distribution, sustainable energy, etc. in different positions, mostly in management.

Many a managers of different companies attended the lecture, notwithstanding the late hour. An interesting debate ensued, about the perspective of Contract Management in the Turkish industry, particularly in construction.

The meeting was concluded when the shadows of the night had completely invaded Taksim square

Giancarlo Cotone attended the ICC-FIDIC Conference on International Construction Contracts and Dispute Resolution,
which took place in Istanbul on 29-30 March.
The event took place at the Park Hotel Bosphorous, not far from Taksim square and was a good chance to look in depth into the interactions between the ICC’s and the FIDIC’s worlds, with a particular focus on Turkey and the Middle East.
